There are 2 clues to answer that question. First, James' signature says that the message was sent from his iPhone. The second clue is the mail headers of James' messages. One of these fields is the MUA used, and its version number. Specifically: X-Mailer: iPhone Mail (7A341) I can't speak to the functionality of the iPhone mail ap though. It may be that it is as fully fledged as a MUA on a standard computer, or it may have limited functionality, which may mean that it doesn't have the ability to distinguish between reply to all/reply directly to the sender, I just don't know.
