Hello! Thankyou! Do I need to have the speakup modules package installed before I do this? I mean that you get when you run apt-get install speakup-modules-2.6.26-1-686 Or can I just ignore to install that? It is these modules that crashes my hole kernel. /Kristoffer ----- Original Message ----- From: "Samuel Thibault" <samuel.thibault@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Speakup is a screen review system for Linux." <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Saturday, April 04, 2009 2:26 PM Subject: Re: Speakup_soft lockup Kristoffer Gustafsson, le Sat 04 Apr 2009 14:23:20 +0200, a ?crit : > Ok, just tell me how to do it and I'll try. > I've got the debian 2.6.26 kernel I got when I installed debian. wget http://incoming.debian.org/speakup-source_3.0.3+git20090404.dfsg.1-1_all.deb dpkg -i speakup-source_3.0.3+git20090404.dfsg.1-1_all.deb apt-get install module-assistant m-a a-i speakup and then modprobe speakup_soft shouldn't lock your machine.
