I really do not want to do this, because I know there are people out there using speechd-up, and it is also a good solution. The main difference between them is that espeakup is more like the ttsynth connector, and it is a light weight connector, mainly designed for live cds, embedded systems, etc. > So, how do I use it once I have installed it? Once it is installed, add it to the default runlevel by typing. rc-update add espeakup default as root.
