I have gentoo and installed speakup about the 20th of February. Now I noticed that Kirk commented out speakup_serial_in (or a name close to that). Now does this mean that the readalldoc will no longer work, or is this being done some other way? Also, if I want to install the new version in the same kernel, do I just run the install script again? Thanks. on Sunday 03/30/2008 William Hubbs(williamh at gentoo.org) wrote > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > Hi Keith, > > I'm not sure about that error with git, but if you want to install > speakup, I recommend these steps until we get the patch into the kernel. > > Clone the repository somewhere other than inside the kernel tree (say > your home directory, or /usr/src). > For example, to put it in your home dir do this: > > cd > git clone http://linux-speakup.org/speakup.git > > Once that is done, make sure that /usr/src/linux points to the kernel > you want to install speakup into.
