-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Chris, That makes two who can, six who cannot. Interesting. For those who cannot, what seems to happen is the stream is intermittently rewound at the source, so that when you capture it to a file, what you get is a file whose contents appear to be overwritten up to a maximum length. In one case it was 66020 bytes, in another it was 65840 bytes. For normal streams, capturing produces a file which grows in proportion to the amount of time you let the capture proceed. When mplayer is used to play such a stream, it plays it up to the first rewind, then exits. But how come some Linux systems do this, and at least two are not fooled by the rewinding? One of the two successes was an FC6 system, and now Chris says his ubuntu system plays it well also. I think the failures might all be Debian Sid systems, at least those I know about are. I appreciate all the testers. I talked to the sysadmin at the source today, who appreciated what I could tell him, and will definitely look into their outgoing configuration. The originator is one webcaster in the Massachusetts reading service network, and we were able to determine that all members of the network exhibit the same failure (i.e., for those which fail). The URL's of the affiliated services of that network can be found at ticnetwork.com, by fishing a bit for them. More like deep sea diving, actually.
