-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Never mind. I just had an inspiration to go check ubuntu's archives, and they still have 1.0.15.3. For anyone wanting to downgrade reading this, you can find it at: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/a/alsa-lib/libasound2_1.0.15-3ubuntu3_i386.deb There is also a amd64 deb in that directory. I installed it, rebooted to be very sure everything was configured right, since a reboot broke it last time after the upgrade, and sure enough, the problem is gone now. Don't forget to tell dpkg to hold that package. Thanks to Chuck and Lukas for your help.
