Hello, Just a tip: you can put speakup modules in the initrd by just adding your favorite speakup module name in /etc/initramfs-tools/modules, for instance: echo speakup_dummy >> /etc/initramfs-tools/modules update-initramfs -u and then you'll get speech even before the root filesystem is mounted.
