gretings,
I am trying to get speakup installed on my Ubuntu(8.04) test machine. I read a breif posting saying that speakup could be built entirely as modules to avoid compiling the kernel.

I downloaded speakup-2.0.tar.gz from the speakup site (http://www.linux-speakup.org/download.html). However, when I uncompress the archive, none of th provided doccumentation mention this option.

The comment in the post said the command to build speakup as modules is "make -C src/ modules modules_install" but when I uncompress the speakup archive there is no src sbdirectory.

Does anyone know how to go about installing speakup as modules?
