I'm not using a laptop and I don't need the laptop layout. Is there a simple way to set the caps lock to work normally? I think I need to do something with the keymap but I'm not entirely sure what. I think that I could normally make a custom keymap and load that as part of the kernel command line on boot, but since Speakup is built in and changes the keyboard on its own, I'm not sure that a custom keymap is what I want. Mostly I just want to press caps lock and have it work without holding down the shift key. Perhaps a new feature could be a dummy file called capslock which could be set to 1 for laptop and 0 for desktop layout or something. I have looked at the files under /sys/module/speakup but didn't find anything directly related to what I'm asking, but I don't know what all of them do and they aren't clearly documented.
