Hello everyone,

I've posted a message to hank, but I also thought I would post to the
lists I'm apart of as well.

Since speechd-up is required for software synthesizers for speakup,
speech-dispatcher has to be working first according to the
documentation. However, speech-dispatcher says the following in the
speechd log file. It was compiled with alsa and pulse audio support.

Sat Aug 2 04:12:30 2008 : 568112] speechd: G LIST LENGHT IS 2
[Sat Aug 2 04:12:30 2008 : 575929] speechd: ERROR: Can't list voices

[Sat Aug 2 04:12:40 2008 : 997614] speechd: Error: No output module
seems to be working, using the dummy output module
[Sat Aug 2 04:12:43 2008 : 424105] speechd: G LIST LENGHT IS 2
[Sat Aug 2 04:12:43 2008 : 438777] speechd: G LIST LENGHT IS 2
[Sat Aug 2 04:12:43 2008 : 628414] speechd: ERROR: Can't list voices
for module espeak
[Sat Aug 2 04:12:44 2008 : 353283] speechd: Error: No output module
seems to be working, using the dummy output module
[Sat Aug 2 04:12:44 2008 : 353349] speechd: Error: No output module
seems to be working, using the dummy output module
[Sat Aug 2 04:12:44 2008 : 353361] speechd: Error: No output module
working, not even dummy, no sound produced!

I don't quite understand what's going on.

Thank you,
Alonzo
