speakup newbie

Hello,

I just joined and would like to try speakup.  I'm using ubuntu in a 
windows VM session.  Can speakup be used on ubuntu with espeak?  Just 
thought it might be a little better at reading stuff then orca at times 
in terminal.  Thanks,
