You should really be using the SpeakupModified FC6. It does work fine on old machines. I have two here, including a 9-year old Pentium 2 350/Mhz with an internal Doiubletalk that runs FC6. It boots fine, because when I type in text speakup_synth=dtlk and hit enter, the CD spins up. But the DoubleTalk does not begin to talk. > So my question is, is there a way to test the card to see if it works? I don't have another machine to put it in unfortunately. With an external synth, I would just boot a DOS boot disk and echo a statement to the serial port it was on, but I'm not sure how to go about this with an internal ISA card. > Thanks in advance. > > Regards: > Adam MacLeod > _______________________________________________ > Speakup mailing list > Speakup at braille.uwo.ca > http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup -- Janina Sajka Phone: +1.202.595.7777 Partner, Capital Accessibility LLC http://CapitalAccessibility.Com Marketing the Owasys 22C talking screenless cell phone in the U.S. and Canada--Go to http://ScreenlessPhone.Com to learn more.
