Hello Sane: If you are using a version of the kernel prior to 2.6.20 your driver is fine. The problem only should up with the 2.6.20 kernels. Whether the debian patches brought that kernel up to an affective 2.6.20 kernel I don't know. The problem only shows up at load time when it can't locate the DECTalk Express because of interrupt handler changes of some sort.
