I agree with the mplayer recommendation, but strongly disagree that especially a newbie try installing something as complex as mplayer from source tar balls. Rather, use the package management strategies appropriate to your distribution, e.g. on Fedora use yum. To use yum to install mplayer on Fedora: 1.) Get and install the livna repository pointers appropriate to your version of Fedora. Get the rpm from http://rpm.livna.org. 2.) Once livan is correctly ensconsed in your /etc/yum.repos.d/, do: yum install mplayer 3.) Read a bit from the mplayer documentation to start learning how to use it: man mplayer Janina randy turner writes: > try this one > not sure if it is the latest version > http://www3.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/MPlayer-1.0rc1.tar.bz2 > also the old trplayer is good > but mplayer should do most everything > > randy > > > On Wed, 8 Nov 2006, Christian wrote: > > > Hi, > > I am looking for some audioplayer that is accessible and works simular to Winamp with forwarding, rewinding, etc. > > Many thanks, > > Christian > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > > Speakup mailing list > > Speakup at braille.uwo.ca > > http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup > > > > _______________________________________________ > Speakup mailing list > Speakup at braille.uwo.ca > http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup -- Janina Sajka Phone: +1.202.595.7777 Partner, Capital Accessibility LLC http://CapitalAccessibility.Com Marketing the Owasys 22C talking screenless cell phone in the U.S. and Canada--Go to http://ScreenlessPhone.Com to learn more.
