Dear Michael Whapples, First I started installing speech-dispatcher-0.6 to use speakup with soft synth. it did not ask about flite libraries. Speech Dispatcher 0.6 did not recognise glib-2.0 though lib-2.0 is in /usr/local/lib. Then I started to install speech dispatcher using 0.5. now is there any means to see that speech dispatcher 0.6 find the libraries glib-2.0? The rc numbers are versions just before the offical release to try and find bugs to make the release as stable as possible. I would guess that there speech-dispatcher, speechd-up, and flite rpm packages for fedora availble, which would make things simpler, but I may be wrong about all of those being in rpm's.
