Do you have a 64 bit processor? I came across a very similar problem on a few machines in January. I'm really rusty at the moment with kernel options as I haven't even looked at one in almost five months but you might try adjusting the timing option in the procesor menu. Its right down the end. Sorry for being so vague. I just cant think of the name of the option. You might want to look at the SuSE KB. although your not using that distribution there are a few things in there that might help. -----Original message----- From: Garrett Klein garrettklein@xxxxxxxxxxx Date: Mon, 08 May 2006 22:23:59 +0100 To: "Speakup is a screen review system for Linux." speakup at braille.uwo.ca Subject: Re: Is it just me, or... > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----Hash: SHA512 > > At this point I can only speculate that ntpd somehow isn't adjusting the clock even though it says it is. Keep in mind that this is Open NTPD, not the reference ntp implementation. And the -s (set immediately on startup) option only works if the clock is off by more than 180 seconds. > > Garrett > > On Mon, May 08, 2006 at 01:19:25PM -0700, Ralph W. What ends up happening is that my clock just gets further and further behind to the point where my time ends up being *ahead* by about 5 minutes or so. Could it be my CMOS battery? > > > > > > Garrett > > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----> > Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (GNU/Linux) > > > > > > iQIVAwUBRF42/vQ3GgYHRr/HAQoPlw//Tp13P8DtTc9+p+fy96zzesbhjx0vXLEC > > > yGxijgtV4R4duHeT12UVElAfbbWJYXKJ+QXYeWOx34XaDHi3xe/WbA9Q+FXSBTL4 > > > Dkc/8wge69byAzootN15M9Ad/CY4egp6muH9lfMhO7grp9RNsGvjnJfbLDWCx3yA > > > /k2rdTXO2iJjTtKYOAQ0UFU5nkdJBSjPBsbQyh+JPqf9bpzPOyd6oylLnIYl2Tob > > > 9blx9XN5DidmcOMAhqhmDTMtz5A0C4DnlIhOxW0SufU5BDrKzZLpVRS3PSkg2TyQ > > > p5DgsT2jps2Ew4/AcXbAda5TkUTdaNPKx2RBEbMZFccHaorbAZJWG3jXBDHZX1RT > > > zpv97pVaSXXUpSHABguVJkjXjq8gYKfLYR1xJbAc/4sDbDJABr6F3V3rMoCCRB98 > > > JUG37jSuHnA3EuL3WHYdQU7eMBbXx1qlusq154slThvfTIny3Ch6kPfpsWaHUs6W > > > f3gi12Se4jL4jc61LxbMWn68oO+ufixtavT4ltwgOMN4h4XSUCn+rPSfsrVnO86M > > > PwCE8YkBqsUgUApI2hDDdx6qnilL9ve7sepTW8iS3O3YiChPQkEDSPc2/CSExTWc > > > w15VYXRCQW/F8Hl7dJYcmgiQeWkW78jzkobUAKk8nb+kmJJ2U5UesJ5fdfwo+z8e > > > wB26ak5r0Xc= > > > =O8bJ > > > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > > > Speakup mailing list > > > Speakup at braille.uwo.ca > > > http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup > > > > -- > > Ralph.
