It then forces a check and I have to wait like four minutes for it. Is there any way to disable this? Go into /etc/fstab, and look for the entry. There will be a 2 in there somewhere I think. Where may I find information about the different groups in Linux, such as wheel? Also, how may I access the CD-ROM, USB storage drive, and floppy drive in a user account? I am trying to be a good noob and avoid root as much as possible :) Usb drives qwill be something like /dev/sda I think, floppies are /dev/fd0. You'll need to mount them. do a "man mount" for usage, you might need some help off the list, the manual's for a level 8 command (quite advanced), I had to get help the first 50 times I used it. :) Thanks, Robby -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFEFJThwamDI1Gy2GIRApOBAKDbgtJ0p4R2MClYFbNFO7iXwM8+xQCghH+R mdLF5WCNqUK14fl89hRyduo= =5j0f -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Speakup mailing list Speakup at braille.uwo.ca http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup
