Hi all. I recently was made aware of a strange problem where some people can't seem to read pdf files that I create with Pdflatex (no text can be seen). Therefore, I thought I'd see if I could
replicate the
problem; however, using Adobe reader-7.0.5 on windows I was unable to reproduce it. I was able to read the test file I created just fine. As to how I created the original LaTEX source/compiled
it, I did the following:
went into a text editor (Emacs in this case) and did
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
some text
\end{document}
and then I saved the file. Next I ran
pdflatex test
since the file was saved as test.tex. All my googling suggests that this sequence of steps/commands should result in a readable PDF file. However, nobody besides myself seems to be able to
read it. I realize that this thread may not be appropriate for this list due to its somewhat visual nature; however, I'm thinking someone may have ran into something like this at some point.
Am I perhaps missing something that is rendering the typeset/final output unreadable? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.
