If you are just interested in mp3 or maybe even e-text then I would recommend the bookport by APH. The only drawback I see with it is it's inability to play ogg/vorbis. It certainly has a long battery life and absolutely everything is spoken. It even has a note taker built in. It is more expensive than the inexpensive mp3 players but is competitive with the high end players. The nice thing about the bookport is that is uses the DoubleTalk chip set so you don't have the multichannel problem you do with the units that use the audio chip for both playing mp3s and menu options. In my opinion it is a nice little unit. Kirk -- Kirk Reiser The Computer Braille Facility e-mail: kirk at braille.uwo.ca University of Western Ontario phone: (519) 661-3061
