Hi. I don't know if this is a stupid or an irrelevant question, but I am running xp and the nearest thing to dos i have got is the command prompt. Can i install it using the command prompt then? I actually installed it with the install.exe file from windows, and although it said that dectalk had been installed, i still can't determine if the driver itself has been installed or not. Cheers! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Hodgson" <andrew@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Speakup is a screen review system for Linux." <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Friday, May 06, 2005 7:07 AM Subject: RE: DECTalk Express Firmware Hi, Its best to do this in dos mode - put the file on a floppy disk - after uncompressing it, and run the install program. Choose not to have the autoexec.bat or config.sys updated. Then go into a dos window and run the update from there. Read the manual/readme for instructions. Thanks. I do not understand how to install it. Am I correct that it is firmware and installs onto the actual DECTalk unit? If this is the case, how does one install it to the unit? I unzipped the package and see stuff about installing onto the computer but not to the unit.
