Hi all.

I'm running speakup 2.00, and kernel 2.6.11.8. In my dmesg output, I
see the following:

"Speakup v-2.00: initialized
Probing for DoubleTalk.

Mount-cache hash table entries: 512 (order: 0, 4096 bytes)

/dev/synth does exist:

"crw-r--r-- 1 root root 10, 25 May 4 20:01 /dev/synth"

Any suggestions regarding what to look at next would be very much
appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Greg
