Hi. You need to use scsi imulation in 2.4 kernels for cd burning. The module isn't supported in 2.6, so you should switch to the standard IDE cdrom support for your burner. I still use cdrecord for burning, so I don't know about other burning software. I would suspect it will be the same. The info about the ide-scsi module in a 2.6 kernel tells you not to use it any more. Hope this helps.
