Okay, okay, what's the secret? A couple of us are playing CD's with mplayer 1.0pre6 with disappointing results. Choppy, jerky, hesitant, on fast systems with lots of memory and no serious competition. Mplayer works like a charm on files and url's, but accessing the CD drive directly is a bummer.
