The gnome startup sounds happen when I try ubuntu hoary and a little later moving the cursor and typing characters gets two high pitched drum beats followed by a single low beat. This is the distribution that stays on a CD and is run as a result of having the CD in a drive when the computer is booted up. Is this a login screen and if so what should I type to move past login and start up gnopernicus so gnopernicus will talk?
