Hi Sean, I think some of this, replying to all or replying to author, has to do with the software that is running the mail list. Most mail list software will let the administrator configure how replies are handled, e.g. whether replies will as a default, go to author, or to the list. For example, replies to this particular list seem to go to the list itself, while on the Gnome list, replies seem to go to their respective message authors. Take care, Beth -----Original Message----- From: speakup-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:speakup-bounces at braille.uwo.ca] On Behalf Of Sean McMahon Sent: Tuesday, July 26, 2005 11:34 AM To: Speakup is a screen review system for Linux. Subject: reply to author VS. reply to list on this list. Perhaps this is a windows specific problem, but when I reply to this list, replies go to the list whereas on some lists, reply goes to the author and reply to all goes to the list. What makes one list differ in behavior from another in the reply format? Do those of you who primarily post email to this list from a linux based mailer encounter this situation when replying? _______________________________________________ Speakup mailing list Speakup at braille.uwo.ca http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup
