A sighted friend came over yesterday and got X running far enough he was able to use mozilla on it and go onto the internet. He did notice some servers errors as I'd been hearing them earlier very shortly after startx had started and the computer said sound among other services might not work in the session. I have sound so far as I know working on the text level can play sounds on the speakers. I tried forcing startx to log those errors to a file using standard redirection for startx.log and that failed. Has anyone managed to get startx and gnopernicus talking with this distro and version? I ran test-speech in text mode and so far as I can tell that doesn't work either. The install has everything put on the system and a desktop choice of gnome having been made.
