trouble applying speakup patch to debian kernel source.

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Check the date on the kernel-patch package and email the maintainer to findout
if it is the equivelent of the speakup 2.0 tarball. Remember with 2.6 kernels,
the speakup documentation says you must do make mrproper before you configure
the kernel.

Subject: trouble applying speakup patch to debian kernel source.

I'm trying to get speakup working on my laptop running debian, so I
installed the kernel-source-2.6.8 and kernel-patch-speakup along with
the other packages via apt-get. But I get a message saying that hunk 1
of 12 failed when patching drivers/char/vt.c and I have attached the
reject file, what do I need to do to make this work?
