Check the date on the kernel-patch package and email the maintainer to findout if it is the equivelent of the speakup 2.0 tarball. Remember with 2.6 kernels, the speakup documentation says you must do make mrproper before you configure the kernel. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Levi Campbell" <levicc00123@xxxxxxxxx> To: <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Monday, July 18, 2005 6:20 AM Subject: trouble applying speakup patch to debian kernel source. I'm trying to get speakup working on my laptop running debian, so I installed the kernel-source-2.6.8 and kernel-patch-speakup along with the other packages via apt-get. But I get a message saying that hunk 1 of 12 failed when patching drivers/char/vt.c and I have attached the reject file, what do I need to do to make this work? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > _______________________________________________ > Speakup mailing list > Speakup at braille.uwo.ca > http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup >
