Hi all, I was exploring my /etc/inittab, /etc/group, /etc/init.d/rcS, /etc/rc2.d/* files and so on and messed something up. Here is what happens. When I try to log in it says "System boot up in progress." Then after about 3-5 seconds it says "Login incorrect." This is with any common user. I can log in with root even though I still get the "System boot up in progress" message. Could somebody maybe point me in the right direction of what I might have done? What could this mean? I think I will probably end up reinstalling my Debian Woody system to fix this one. Sorry to trouble the list with my ignorant problems. Best Regards from Ohio, U.S.A.
