Hi Jacob-and-All: Since early October I have been in linux with a Dec-Talk-Pc. And while I am neither a linux expert nor a techy, I have some observations. First of all, even if I up or down arrow to new text, it will not shutup. If I hit controll during the first 1 second of speech, it will stop, but if I wait beyond that, I seem to need a large sledge hammer to stop speech. Since I like to cursor alot, this sluggish behavior is quite frustrating. Hart
