-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Debee, Have you seen the README in the /usr/src/linux directory? Doing "make config" once is a pretty daunting task. But having done it once, you may rarely have to do it again. Save a copy of /usr/src/linux/.config somewhere so you can copy it back if you ever get a new kernel source package. Then instead of doing "make config" you can do "make oldconfig", and you will only be asked about differences between the old and the new files. The exception seems to be when you move from a 2.4.x to a 2.6.x kernel, where there are so many differences you might as well slog through it all again. Also, to make a few minor config changes, I generally just delete the appropriate lines in /usr/src/linux/.config and then do "make oldconfig" and I get to answer those items with different answers if I want.
