They are probably doing ** for exponential...haven't looked at site yet. Although I usually use ^ but in perl for example...we all use **, so maybe they are just writing it that way? Take care, Sina No trees were destroyed in sending this message; however, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. -----Original Message----- From: speakup-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:speakup-bounces at braille.uwo.ca] On Behalf Of Gregory Nowak Sent: Wednesday, June 09, 2004 12:41 AM To: Speakup is a screen review system for Linux. I did do a search on google, and came up with: http://www.usatoday.com/weather/whicalc.htm This differs from the formula that I used before. The good thing is that here, they have an example of how it is worked out term by term. The bad thing is their multiplication. Specifically, sometimes, they use "x", sometimes they use "*" as the multiplication symbols. Also, in some places they use a "**" without a number between the 2 "*" symbols, which doesn't make sense to me, unless they're alternating between using prefix, and infix notations in the same calculation, which wouldn't make sense. If someone is willing to clear up these 2 issues for me, I'll have another go at rewriting my program with this new formula, and see how it does. Thanks.
