cdrom drive not working

Hi,
I am using fedora and my cd rom drive doesn't work. The drive works in 
windows and it worked in redhat9 and for the installation of fedora.  Iget 
an error that says /dev/cdrom doesn't exist.
Do you have any sugestions on how to fix this?
