Hi all,

also, if you are using gentoo, you can emerge and use the keychain program to do this as follows:

emerge keychain

Then use "man keychain" to find out how to set it up.  

This program will set up an ssh agent that  is always running, so you only have to enter your passphrase for ssh one time, after your system has rebooted.

This should also work on non-gentoo distributions as well.  Go to http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/keychain.xml to find out more about it.
