Hi their. I totally aggre with you their. API's and actually screen readers are totally different. API's can be a good thing, but it depends on how rich in accessibility they provide. A poor implementation example is the MSAA libs. Once fully realized, the current Gnome GTK and ATK bridge modules provide for a much richer abstraction of GUI elements.
