I recognize the exim seems to be the default choice on Debian installations. However, I took exim out in favor of sendmail because exim failed the security test from: telnet cygnus.mail-abuse.org I don't want to contribute spam by being a possible unwitting relay agent. Please note, this was my experience last year about this time. Your mileage may vary and, indeed, things might have changed with exim.
