Thanks for your responses. Is there any way to get the CVS version without running the checkout script on the local machine? I can't get my Linux to connect to the net. I use a USR 5610 hardware modem. I have run pppconfig and set it up, but it still will not connect. I run pon and get the message something about "security check enabled" and it just stops. I do not hear it accessing the modem at all. Is there any way to tell if ppp is enabled in this kernel? If there was an address I could download the latest version from, I have access to another machine. thanks for any help.
