Hi.
Here is a simple step by step basic installation for gnopernicus. Perhaps
you missed something during the install.
1. Install gnopernicus, gnome-speech, and gnome mag with all dependancies.
2. Install festival with all dependancies if for no other reason than it
usually works out of the box.
3. Run test-speech. As an example if you wanted to use festival for speech
select it from the list of drivers. It should begin talking to you, and you
can do various tests on festival.
4. Startx and once you are sure it is loaded do an alt+f2, a run dialog will
appear, and type gnopernicus, and then press enter.
5. Gnopernicus will run for the firstt time and ask you if you want gnome
accessibility support enabled. Tell it yes.
6. Close out of x, and restart x.
7. Once x is loaded restart gnopernicus as you did in step 4.
8. Now, find your gnome settings or gnome-control-center and open up
accessibility, and then locate assistive technology support.
9. Once the assistive technology support dialog is open check screen reader,
and tab to close.
10. Once again restart x and gnopernicus should load on startup of x on your
user account.
