Hi, Cheryl: The best I can do for you is to share my /etc/modprobe.conf. This will, I think, be somewhat different on different distros, but the basic ideas will be the same. So, here's one of my modprobe files: include /etc/modprobe.conf.dist alias scsi_hostadapter sym53c8xx alias eth0 3c59x alias eth1 3c59x #sound configurations ALSA alias snd-card-0 snd-emu10k1 index=0 alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0 install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L >/dev/null 2>&1 || : remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -S >/dev/null 2>&1 Cheryl Homiak writes: > Ok, first I got alsa to work in kernel 2.4.25.
