reverting from Alsa?

My sblive still sounds ok with the kernel-built oss in 2.6, though it's
better with the commerical oss. I also tried changing to alsa _AGAIn_,
and the install seemingly went off without a hitch, but
got no sound and errors about no /dev/dsp and no /dev/audio devices,
though I had run snddevices. decided to take a break from it. I think if
you want to have your oss reassert itself, you need to take anything
related to alsa out (such as alsasound or modules that might try to load).
