My sblive still sounds ok with the kernel-built oss in 2.6, though it's better with the commerical oss. I also tried changing to alsa _AGAIn_, and the install seemingly went off without a hitch, but got no sound and errors about no /dev/dsp and no /dev/audio devices, though I had run snddevices. decided to take a break from it. I think if you want to have your oss reassert itself, you need to take anything related to alsa out (such as alsasound or modules that might try to load). -- Cheryl "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
