I have mpg321, but not alsa, on my debian system and it sounds fine, though zinf also works quite well. So, while there could be a lot of variables, such as version of mpg321 and other setup differences, I really don't think the problem is mpg321, unless it's mpg321 with some other variable involved. -- Cheryl "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
