Music Sharing with Speakup?

Now that I've been in Linux for 19-days, I want to resume file sharing which I
did in windows. I understand there are some Linux versions, but how easy will
the interfaces work with Speakup, Red-Hat 9, and a Dec-Talk PC? For example,
will the uploads-and-downloads be in separate consoles? Once I find a matching
list, how will I select some or all items from that list?
I realize I cannot use the linux version of winmx because it is for wind, but
which program will give me a wide veriety of mp3s in rockabilly and hardhouse?
Thanks so much for any helpful links-and-obversations
Hart
