Hi Well, I'm not sure why you would want to, but the simplest way is: mount the ext3 filesystem as ext2 then remove the .journal file from the root dir of the filesystem That clears away ext3. If you want to use it as ext2 but don't necessarily want to remove the ext3 capability, just mount it as ext2. Again, not sure why anyone would want to do this, given ext2's extremely long boot-up check after an improper shutdown.
