If I did, I wouldn't have been using arecord to make the recording. Besides, I don't have any of these applications, neither do I want to go out and get them for something which I don't do on a regular basis, it would just be a waist of money for something that would just gather dust on my book shelves, like a lot of other windows software I own now. > Gregory: I don't have these apps installed just now, so can't check the > docs. I've just had a look at the ecasound site, and it does look like it can filter out sounds below a certain level. The question is, how do I figure out the level below which sound should be filtered? I'm not an expert on these things, so please bear with me. > You may also benefit from some analog adjustments on the cassette setup. > Can you adjust the bias, for example? Can you clarify what you mean by "adjust the voice"? Before starting to record the tape to my hd, I made a few adjustments on the tape player, which somewhat filtered out the background voice. Thanks. Greg
