Aha ... make menuconfig shows the speakup mod! Console drivers -> [*] Speakup console speech (NEW) --- Type "y" for each synthesizer you want in the kernel [*] Software synth driver, usrdev (NEW) Very Cool! Hopefully these speakup mods can be added to speakup officially too ... and then all of this should go in the official kernel. -- Doug
