Hi Scott. I don't think it will work at the moment. Bc the USb sybsystem doesn't init with the ttyS devices, so even then you wouldn't get speech until later. I'd say your best bet is to use a pcmcia/cardbus serial adapter or get a pci serial card if using a desktop. May you code in the power of the source, may the kernel, libraries, and utilities be with you, throughout all distributions until the end of the epoch.
