Ok Adam and Kenny, Tried doing some screen review keys before turning on the synth and pressing insert enter to turn it on. I never get the "SPeakup reinitialized" message. I wonder if this is because it is different in some fashion than the true external. However, I tried one final test with success. I left the previous comments in case someone had another idea/thought, but here is what I did. I hit the review keys, waited about 20 seconds or so, then turned it on, and finally hit the insert enter key. I got the message that time. I am wondering if for some reason there is stuff still being pumped into the buffer and the synth gets it and to Speakup it appears as though it was never off and in order to create the situation where the synth looks to be off, you have to wait until the buffer is flushed. Does that sound reasonable? So, it does work you just have to wait a little while. Scott
