Hi geoff, when I setuyp my system, I make sure that all users can access the cdrom and floppy by putting a line in my /etc/fstab that looks something like this. /dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0 given that I'm the only one that accesses the cdrom I want it that way. even if it's a hole in the system.
