Paul, The format of the unzip command indicates that the first named file on the command line be a zip file, and any subsequent names are the names of files contained in the archive that you wish to extract. So when you do "*" for the argument, you are giving the unzip command a series of names depending on what is in your directory, all arranged in alphabetical order, but unlikely to satisfy the requirements of the command syntax.
