Sometimes a failed hunk matters and sometimes it doesn't. the first time I ever did it from cvs I had a bunch of failed hunks because they just apparently weren't needed or applicable to the kernel I was compiling. If you get failed hunks, unless you know they mean trouble, I'd go ahead and try compiling and see what happens. The cvs had to be changed when 2.4.19 came along so maybe the change made for 2.4.19 wasn't needed in 2.4.18. Cheryl
