Hi, well here is the state of things at this point. Speakup doesn't support the gui but there will be a screen reader coming out eventually called Gnopernicus that will support the gui. As for MS Word like word processors Linux has them, and perhaps the most well known is Star office 6, but you need access to the gui to use Star Office. The second well known is open Office which will be Gnopernicus compatible once Gnopernicus is ready to be released. As for web browsing you can use a simple text bbrowser named Lynx. It is fairly accessible, and eventually a Gnome web browser Galian will be accessible as well.
